Lumicryl 1401
Lumicryl 1401 is a unique fluid, solventless, energycurable (EB/UV) acrylic material diluted in EOEOEA. The resinous portion of Lumicryl 1401is an energy curable high molecular weight multifunctional acrylic resin. In EB/UV coatings, film properties develop as molecular weight increases during the curing stages.
By starting with a linear material of high molecular weight that is subsequently crosslinked upon EB/UV exposure, the physical properties of the film are dramatically enhanced. Higher hardness, good cure rate, improved solvent resistance, superior adhesion, and diminished film shrinkage are some of the advantages afforded by these systems. For ease of handling, the resin is diluted in a choice of three reactive diluents to lower the viscosity and facilitate incorporation into final formula for specific application requirements.
